How to read a pitch report

A city name is not a surface. Double-headers, used strips and weather can change the same ground.

Timestamp first. Reject undated screenshots and generic venue averages as match-day proof.
Describe the strip. Capture grass, dryness, cracks and boundary asymmetry exactly as reported.
Translate to roles. Check opening overs, batting position and likely bowling quota—never fame alone.
Stop at the toss. If the XI, weather or strip differs, discard the earlier lean and reassess.
