In Rs9 the captain still doubles points and the vice-captain still adds a half. That is why the armband is the last tap, not the first. Lock only after the toss graphic and the confirmed XI. This site will not pick those two names for you.

Give the armband to time in the middle. A bowling all-rounder who faces 20 balls and bowls a few overs has two paths. A one-over specialist is a weak captain unless the surface is extreme.

On a true batting track, prefer the top three. Openers who stay for 40 balls have more room to score. Confirm they still open on the Teams page — last season’s opener may now sit at six.

On a green or seaming surface, a new-ball bowler can wear the armband. Three early wickets can beat a 30-run knock. Check the venue note on IPL before you copy last Sunday’s batter-captain.

On a slow, used pitch, a spinner who will bowl a full quota is a fair differential. Do that in a large room, not in a two-person league, and only after you know they are in the XI.

Do not copy the most-owned name. A famous jersey with 40% ownership who scores 15 hurts more people than an 8% name who scores 50. Ownership is colour, not a plan.

Match the room to the risk. Tiny rooms want a high-involvement captain. Huge rooms can survive one lower-owned armband. Either way, write one lesson after the last ball.

• Lower-order hitters who may not bat

A 2- to 10-person Rs9 room punishes one bad name more than it rewards a miracle. You are trying not to finish last, not to invent a unique XI.

• Use confirmed roles from Teams. Skip anyone who might sit or bat at eight.
• One leftover differential is enough. Two failed surprises can drop you from first to last in a tiny field.
• Lock after toss. A “might play” pick is a zero if they stay on the bench.
• Spend credits on top-order time and full bowling quotas. Involvement is the floor.
• Armband an all-rounder, an opener or a death bowler who will actually bowl those overs.

A 100-plus Rs9 room pays the top sliver. A cloned “safe” side finishes in the pack. You still lock after toss — you just allow one or two lower-owned names with a real role.

• Two or three differentials is plenty. A number-seven who also bowls two overs, or a part-time spinner into a right-hand heavy order, is a reason — not a random dart.
• If tonight’s IPL note says spin and the crowd loads pacers, a wrist-spinner with a full quota is the kind of split that can move rank.
• Under-used all-rounders who bat six and bowl three overs often cost fewer credits than a famous jersey.
• If most of the room armbands Player A, Player B is only useful if they will actually play a long stretch.
• Do not paste the same XI you used in a two-person room. Huge prize pools punish clones. Tiny rooms punish wild cards.

IPL 2026 moves faster than a weekly recap. Impact substitutes, travel and a new venue can wipe last Sunday’s scoreboard. Keep these Rs9 pages in one browser tab group.

• Read the IPL hub before you spend credits. Franchises rotate. The player who started last night may sit tonight — confirm on Teams, not on a forwarded chat.
• Wait for the impact-sub graphic. One substitute can change the order and the bowling list. Lock after that, not before.
• Venue is not a rumour. Wankhede usually lifts batters. Chepauk usually lifts spin. Eden can swing early. Narendra Modi has long boundaries. Use the IPL pages, not last week’s points.
• Death overs still matter. The 18th and 20th can produce cheap wickets. Those bowlers often cost fewer credits than a famous batter.

• Copying a famous jersey. High ownership that scores 15 hurts more people than a quiet name that fails alone.
• Locking before the XI graphic. A rested starter is zero points. Stay on Matches until toss.
• Ignoring tonight’s ground. Batters at a seaming venue, or four pacers at Chepauk, is last week’s plan on the wrong night.
• Seven from one side with no reason. If that franchise folds, the whole Rs9 ticket folds. A 6–5 or 7–4 split needs a toss reason.
• Armband before the coin. Dew and who bats second change captain value. Edit after toss.
• A random 2x. Captain is the last tap. A one-over name can erase the night.
• No room-size plan. Tiny rooms want floors. Huge rooms need one different name. Do not mix those styles in one ticket.
• Treating Rs9 as salary. These notes are research. They never promise a payout. Write a rupee cap before the first ball.
